Incidents
  • An employee of the town of Forest City reported an incident of damage to government property, breaking and entering and larceny.
  • Jordan Starnes reported an incident of a lost or stolen cell phone.
  • An officer of the Forest City Police Department reported an incident of possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. (See arrest of Melton)

Arrests
  • Michael Anthony Withrow, age 23, of River Hills Dr. in Forest City, was arrested on warrants for Second degree trespassing and communicating threats. He received a $1,500 secured bond.
  • Lawrence Alan Duncan, age 36, of Hamilton St. in Forest City, was arrested on warrants for harassing phone calls and communicating threats. He received a 48 hour hold.
  • Keanthony Daniel Surratt, age 19, of Collett St. in Rutherfordton, was arrested for larceny and resisting a public officer. He received a $500 secured bond.
  • Myron Dillon Melton, age 32, of Hardin Rd. in Forest City, was arrested for possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer and also served with two outstanding warrants. He received a $50,000 secured bond.
  • Patrick Allen Covington, age 23, of Mitchell Glenn Rd. in Charlotte, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. He received a $750 secured bond.
  • Bruce Wayne Givens, Jr., age 35, of Highview St. in Forest City, was arrested for boisterous shouting. He received a written promise to appear.
  • Ida Nicole Guffey, age 34, of Old Caroleen Rd. in Forest City, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked. She received a $1,000 secured bond.
