- IT Director Mickey Munn presented an Information Technology Systems Acceptable Use Policy for approval.
- Finance Director Roxanne Stiles presented the October financials, highlighting the additional line in each fund that reflects the budget amendment passed for the disaster recovery response.
- In the Manager’s Report, Town Manager Janet Mason expressed excitement about the official announcement of Project Igloo and provided updates on key initiatives, including the Daniel Road subdivision plans, ongoing storm cleanup and FEMA reimbursements, and progress on the BRIC grant projects.
- Mason reported plans for the Daniel Road subdivision, which includes 152 single-family homes (mostly 3-4 bedroom), have been submitted. The Planning Board will review the plans at the December 5 meeting, followed by the Board of Commissioners later in December.
- Storm cleanup is ongoing, with crews continuing to remove downed trees and those at risk of falling to prevent potential hazards.
- An update on the BRIC grant highlighted progress in phase I, focusing on design and contract procurement. The grant will fund 3 critical water and sewer improvement projects.
- Council awarded Town Manager Janet Mason a three-year extension to her contract. Mayor Holland and Commissioners Justin Conner, John Mark Bennett, and Chris Lee commended Dr. Mason for the work she has done and will continue to do for the Town.
