  1. Public comments from Marshall Rippy, June Brown, and Justin Conner
  2. Council approved the ordinance ordinary the repair, alteration, or improvement, or the vacation and closing of the dwelling at 186 Kent Drive.
  3. Council approved the call for a public hearing on the creation of a new zoning district. The new R-4 Multi-Family Residential District will be established as a district in which the principal use of land is for high-density multi-family residential purposes. This district allows the highest residential density in the town in a variety of residential uses in areas where traffic circulation patterns can accommodate such densities. It is also the intent of this district to allow for certain types of non-residential community facilities and services that would not be detrimental to the residential character of the district and to potentially incentivize multi-use development.
  4. Council approved the appointment of Commissioner Lee to the Steering Committee for the Multi-Modal Transportation Plan
  5. Council approved the resolution accepting the dedication of Red Oak Dr within the Cottages at Twelve Oaks subdivision
  6. Council approved the Camping and Loitering Ordinance, Chapter 13 Section 13-7.5
  7. Council approved the Light Duty Policy as recommended by Town staff
  8. Council approved a budget amendment to the general fund to allocate funds received from grants. The North Carolina Amateur Sports Grant allocates $15,000 to assist with the cost of replacing the basketball goals at the Larry K Ross Gymnasium. The NC League of Municipalities Safety Grant allocates $5,000 to the fire department to assist with the cost of safety equipment for Forest City Fire Rescue.
